About the Event

No Photo Gallery for This Event

There is no community, marginalized or not, that is unaffected by anti-Black racism. As POC allies, Tag! Queer Shorts Festival organizers stand in solidarity with the #BLM movement and bring this curated collection of queer shorts that center Black experience and voices in the US and beyond. We urge queer folk to take this historical moment to heart and begin to root out the hatred and discrimination that thrives in our communities.  Featured films:  A Different Direction (Sampson McCormick)  Ode to Pablo (Adelina Anthony)  Preciso Dizer Que Te Amo [I Have to Say That I Love You] (Ariel Nobre)   This screening is part of a monthly series of community events designed to bring artists and community together in a spirit of mutual support and healing. Your contributions are divided equally between LGBTQIA+ serving community partners, Tag!, and to participating filmmakers.

This month's event supports Black Alphabet, the Chicago-based nonprofit that promotes equity through arts programming such as BAFF, the Black Alphabet Film Festival.  The films are hosted online, and you will receive a URL and password the day of the event that will allow you to watch the films as many times as you'd like through Sunday night.
