About the Event
In partnership with ADODI Chicago, Black Alphabet invites you to Habari Gani a warm, community-centered Kwanzaa gathering rooted in culture, connection, and collective care.
Join us for an evening of shared food, games, and meaningful conversation as we explore Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility), the third principle of Kwanzaa. Together, we’ll reflect on what it means to build and sustain our communities—making our siblings’ challenges our own and working collectively toward shared solutions.
Kwanzaa is a week-long cultural celebration honoring African heritage, values, and traditions, observed from December 26 to January 1. Centered on the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles), Kwanzaa invites us into practices of unity, self-determination, collective responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. Through storytelling, ritual, and togetherness, this celebration offers space for reflection, cultural pride, and recommitment to community.
Come as you are, bring your whole self, and celebrate community with us
